Armistead Mechanical’s rich history began shortly after World War I when Robert A. Armistead began a residential plumbing and heating business in his basement and a garage behind his Jersey City, NJ home. As in many American success stories, the business quickly blossomed and Armistead found himself performing more and more light commercial and industrial work. Once his son, Robert Theodore Armistead, entered the business, it flourished and the company began concentrating on heavier commercial and industrial construction.

Today, Armistead Mechanical is one of the most successful industrial piping contractors in the tri-state area. Our affiliate companies, AMI Services, Inc. and Acorn Plumbing & Heating, Inc., provide our customers with service and maintenance of their HVAC and plumbing systems. These partnerships enable Armistead to extend exceptional and efficient service to our many customers, exceeding their needs and expectations.
