HVAC Design/Build Engineer
|
|
|
Looking
for a qualified individual to fill a senior position
within our organization to provide design-build
mechanical system designs for commercial, institutional
and industrial projects.
Position includes HVAC system design and analysis,
plumbing/piping system layout, ductwork sizing and layout
and HVAC performance and load calculations.
Applicant to have ability to transfer engineering
ideas and concepts to drawings with an understanding of
and compliance of all applicable building codes and be
able to assemble a complete D-B estimate or budgets. The
applicant should be capable of producing and managing the
production of construction documents and coordinate with
architects, engineers, clients and the project team.
Design experience should include the following system
types: chilled/hot
water, DX packaged electric and gas heat, air handling
systems, plus variable air volume, heat exchangers and
boilers, plumbing and piping design.

Project
Manager
|
|
|
Manager
of large and/or multiple sized projects.
Direct multiple projects through on-site
construction managers and achieve project objectives.
Heavy client contact and travel to job sites
required. Larger
projects may require on-site project manager.
Manage and coordinate all efforts required to
assure compliance with building codes, contracts, safety
and workmanship. Responsible
for jobsite organization, schedules, materials,
prefabrication, equipment, and manpower scheduling.
Total financial accountability for all aspects of
projects including cost controls, billing procedures, and
claims and collections.
Deal with subcontractors and vendors.
Negotiate contract change orders as required.
Provide motivation and leadership to the project
team, including field foremen, crew, client and owner.
Bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field
and five years of construction experience, including
supervisory experience. Requires
leadership, technical knowledge, sound judgment, common
sense, and excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of building construction, materials and
methods, codes and laws and ordinances.
Skill in reading and interpreting plans and
specifications. Computer
proficiency a must.

Estimator
|
|
|
Preparation
of mechanical construction industry estimates, inclusive
of all material, labor, equipment and subcontractors for a
specific set of plans and specifications for review and
mark-up by others. (Typical
projects are Fortune 500 companies: Process, HVAC Piping
and Plumbing for pharmaceuticals, chemical plants,
hospitals, etc.) May
also include pricing of project change orders and
preliminary budget estimates.
This position will prepare and define the scope of
work in a standard proposal format developed by Armistead
Mechanical, Inc utilizing software by Estimation, Inc. Attend
bid walk-throughs and project scope meetings.
Must have high school diploma and further
education/ training, and at least 5 years estimating
experience in the mechanical contracting industry.
Candidates should possess excellent writing and
verbal skills, excellent work ethics, and professional
manner. Must
be able to work closely with others as a team.
Knowledge of computers, particularly Windows,
Internet and Office is required.

Assistant Project Manager
|
|
The assistant project manager
provides overall management and direction for a field
project on one or more smaller projects.
May work closely with a Project Manager or Sr.
Project Manager. Management
and administration of construction progress, which
includes ensuring procedures and materials comply with
specifications. Observe
work in progress to assure timeliness, project
requirements and acceptable workmanship.
Prepare project game plan and contract change
orders for purchasing, prefabrication, material handling
and labor manning. Ensures
adherence to jobsite organization, schedules, and safety.
Responsible for billing procedures, claims, and
collection of monies.
Responsible for coordinated drawings and as built
drawings.
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical or Civil or Chemical Engineering or related
field and three years of construction experience which
included one year of construction supervisory experience.
Knowledge of building construction, materials,
methods, codes, laws and ordinances.
Skill in reading and interpreting plans and
specifications. Must
possess the ability to communicate effectively with
project team and customers.
Proficient computer skills required.

Project Engineer
|
|
Provides
overall assistance to management and direction for a field
project on one or more smaller projects.
This position is considered an “in training”
position, and the individual works closely with a project
manager or senior project manager in effecting work in the
field. Manage
construction progress, which includes ensuring procedures
and materials comply with specification.
Observe work in progress to assure timeliness,
conformance with schedule, project requirements and
acceptable workmanship.
Provide assistance on cost estimates and job cost
control for manpower, materials, and equipment.
Ensure adherence to jobsite organization,
schedules, safety, and job site priorities.
Prepare, submit, track and negotiate change orders.
Understand lines of authority and communication of
the construction team.
Bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related
field.
One year of construction experience a plus.
Must have knowledge of building construction,
materials, methods, codes, laws and ordinances.
Skill in reading and interpreting plans and
specifications.
Computer proficiency required.
