Armistead Mechanical provided all HVAC equipment and piping for the new 155,000 square foot John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. Construction was completed in the Fall of 2010. The facility includes all adult outpatient cancer services for the hospital including diagnostic, chemotherapy, pharmacy and laboratory resources and radiology oncology services.
The piping for this project utilized grooved coupling for the carbon steel and ProPress for the copper systems. Major equipment included 400 ton centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air cooled process chiller, Trane custom air handler units, roof top gas‐fired humidifiers, and gas‐fired boilers.
