Pre-planning is an essential component to every project at Armistead Mechanical, Inc. We follow each project from conception to completion, one stage at a time.

The Armistead design team takes a project from the conceptual stage to a finished engineered product. We pinpoint the criteria for your project first. Then we custom-develop a mechanical system for you from cost estimate through performance parameters and optional operating cost analysis.

After we determine the most cost-and performance-efficient components for a system during the design phase, our next priority is maximum economy of time and money during the bid, purchase and prefabrication processes. Lead time in the prefabrication of essential parts is compressed, resulting in savings to the customer.

Piping prefabrication provides Armistead with a competitive edge: Piping prefabrication is a key component of Armistead Mechanical, Inc.'s project management philosophy. Our teams employ prefabrication whenever possible on all jobs. This means savings to our customers, and it give us the competitive edge plus scheduling advantages. Orbital welding - our specialty: Armistead Mechanical, Inc. utilizes Arc Machines, Inc.'s state-of-the-art computerized orbital welding equipment to provide FDA-approved sanitary piping systems to pharmaceutical and consumer products companies.

Specialty work: We play an important role in the pharmaceutical industry. A major portion of our work is concentrated on plant additions and mechanical system upgrades for various campus sites of such outstanding pharmaceutical companies as Wyeth Ayers-Lederle, Schering-Plough and Novartis.

Area hospitals have a healthy respect for the way we respond to their special needs.
Medical gas piping is a vital part of the systems in hospital construction - including piping to supply oxygen, nitrogen and other required gases to operating rooms, patient rooms and OB/GYN suites. We do major hospital additions and renovations. Hospitals also have special requirements in plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, renovations and new construction. Our mechanics are trained and certified to perform this work in accordance with the latest NFPA requirements.

Quality Control/Quality Assurance: We maintain an established QA/QC Program for use in our main shops as well as our project sites. This pre-production through project completion plan is administered by our QA/QC Manager and Mechanical Coordinator, a full-time staff employee, and includes the following elements.
