Presidential Park Elementary School, a brand new state-of-the-art 210,000 square foot building, is the largest elementary school built in New York State.
The two-story building includes individual heating and cooling units and controls, bathrooms in all first floor classrooms, plus a cafeteria and gymnasium on each floor.
Our use of 3D BIM allowed the MEP trades to closely coordinate.
The project was completed over a two-year timeframe that included 15 prime contractors. Armistead managed its own team of subcontractors.
The building is energy efficient from the outside envelope down to the mechanical systems and is fully automated with Siemens’ equipment. The school district has applied for certification from CHPS – Collaborative for High Performance Schools.
